Frequently asked questions

Should a CV include a photo?

In Uzbekistan many employers expect one, especially state organisations and customer-facing roles. It is a convention, not a legal requirement. If you are applying to an international company or abroad, leave it out — in many countries it is not asked for. The photo is optional here, and leaving it empty costs no space on the page.

Which language should the CV be in?

The language of the job posting. Uzbek for state organisations; Russian is the working language of many private offices in Tashkent; English for international companies and IT. This tool produces all three, and the document language is independent of the site language — you can read the site in Russian and write the CV in Uzbek.

Latin or Cyrillic script?

It depends on who will read it. Younger HR staff and private companies usually expect Latin; older managers and some government offices still find Cyrillic easier. When in doubt, use Latin. One button switches the whole document here, while e-mail, phone and links stay untransliterated.

How long should a CV be?

One page is the right answer for most people. A second page is only justified by substantial experience. A hairline on the sheet shows where the page ends: if your text crosses it, trim the oldest role or tighten the summary.

Do I have to give a birth date and marital status?

No. It is a settled local convention in Uzbekistan and many employers expect to see it, but it is not required. Both fields are optional — left blank, those lines do not appear on the finished CV.

Should I send a PDF or a Word file?

Sending it to a person directly (e-mail, Telegram) — PDF: it opens exactly as it looks here. Uploading to a job board — .docx: those systems read the file and split it into fields. That is why the .docx here is exported as a single column — automated parsers often scramble a two-column layout.

I have no work experience. What do I write?

Experience is not only formal employment. Internships, coursework projects, volunteering, helping in a family business, freelance jobs — all of it counts. Put education, skills and languages first, and use the summary to say concretely what you have learned and what you can do.

Where is the information I type stored?

On this device only. The CV is assembled in your browser and never sent to a server. The draft stays in browser storage, so closing the page and coming back keeps your work. The photo is not uploaded anywhere either. No signup is required.
