Is a tilxat legally binding?
Yes. Under Article 733 of the Civil Code of Uzbekistan, a borrower's receipt means the loan agreement counts as concluded in written form. Above ten times the base calculation amount, written form is mandatory — and a tilxat is exactly what satisfies it. In a dispute, courts accept a tilxat as written evidence (sources: lex.uz, Civil Code Articles 732–733; regional Ministry of Justice guidance).
What must a tilxat contain?
The elements required in legal practice: both parties' full names, passport details and registration addresses; the sum in digits AND in words; the date the money was given and the return deadline; how it was given (cash or card transfer); and the borrower's handwritten signature. This tool lays out every element, and writes the sum in words itself — so it cannot be mistyped.
Is a printed tilxat valid, or must it be handwritten?
Both are valid, but the signature must always be by hand. Where a dispute is likely, having the borrower copy the whole text by hand is safer — handwriting can be examined by an expert. You can print this tool's output and sign it, or use it as the model to copy by hand.
Does it need to be notarised?
No. A tilxat is binding without a notary. You may notarise it if you wish — it strengthens the evidence further — but the law does not require it.
Why is the sum only in so'm?
Settlements between individuals in Uzbekistan are made in the national currency — lending in foreign currency conflicts with currency legislation. That is why this tool accepts and writes sums in so'm only.
